Missing pictures
What to do when LuvMacro says a macro or script needs pictures it does not have.
What it means
Some macros wait for something to appear on screen, or click a button they recognise. They do that by looking for a small picture. An imported script cannot carry its pictures inside it, so the pictures have to be supplied.
When pictures are missing, LuvMacro will not play the macro. It names the missing files and presses nothing.
You saw this message
It reads like Needs 3 pictures before it can play, followed by the file names, and then tells you to put them in an img folder next to the file and open it again. A macro that stops with error code LM-6006 is missing pictures too.
Fix it for an imported script
- Find the picture files the script needs. They are PNG files, and the script's author usually shares them with it.
- Make a folder called img next to the .ahk file. Putting the pictures in the same folder as the script works too.
- Copy the PNG files in. Keep their original names. Capital letters do not matter.
- Open the script again with Open….
- Press Import details. The Pictures line should say they were found.
Fix it in the editor
- Press Edit… and, for a script, Start editing.
- Press Attach pictures and choose the PNG files.
- Press Save changes, then Save… to keep the new copy with the pictures inside it.
If it still does not work
- Each picture must be a real PNG and no larger than 2 MB. A file that was renamed from another type is not a PNG.
- The names must match the script's. The file names are shown in Import details.
- Pictures taken on a different screen size or display scale may be found less reliably, or not at all. See Screen sizes and scaling.
- A picture with nothing in it to look for, or one that cannot be read, gives an error code: LM-7005, LM-7006, LM-7007, LM-6009.
LuvMacro cannot capture a picture from your screen yet. If you need to make one, use a screenshot tool, crop to the small part to look for, and save it as a PNG with the name the script expects.
