Emergency stop
Stop a recording or a script at once. Held keys and mouse buttons are let go.
Stop
Press Stop or F8. This is the default Stop shortcut on Windows, and you can change it in Settings. It works for recordings and for imported scripts.
When you stop, LuvMacro lets go of every key and mouse button it was holding, so nothing is left pressed.
Stop stays available
- LuvMacro will not start playing unless the Stop shortcut is working.
- If a script wants to use the same key as your Stop shortcut, LuvMacro keeps its Stop shortcut and leaves the script's key out. You can always stop.
- Hiding the small status bar in Settings does not turn off the Stop shortcut.
- For a recording, switching to a different window also stops playback.
After you stop
Press Play again to start fresh. Playback begins from the start, not from where it stopped. For a script, all of its variables go back to their first values. A script that keeps running also has a Start over button while it plays.
If something seems stuck
Stop is built to let go of everything LuvMacro pressed. If a key still seems held, tell us. Open Settings, choose Troubleshoot…, copy the support report and send it in the Discord server with what you did.
What it cannot promise
LuvMacro cannot say exactly how fast Stop takes effect on every computer. If the computer is very busy, or a program has frozen, it may take a moment. Programs running as administrator can ignore input from LuvMacro.
Test Stop on a short macro before you leave something running.
